About Ivan
Ivan is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with a strong passion for helping individuals, especially children and adolescents, with challenges like Tourette’s syndrome and tic disorders. After spending a few years working with tic disorders, he realised that he needed to obtain thorough training in Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT). As such, he travelled to Lousiana, USA, where he completed the CBIT course for professionals through the Tourette Syndrome Behaviour Therapy Institute (TS-BTI). Ivan felt privileged to receive training and supervision from the esteemed Douglas W. Woods, PhD. Dr Woods is one of the leading figures in the research and clinical application of CBIT, which he co-developed.
Ivan is now an accredited practitioner of CBIT and has worked with Tic disorders for nearly 10 years. Thanks to the effectiveness of CBIT, Ivan feels honoured to have helped numerous children, adolescents and adults reduce their tics and the impact tics have on their daily lives.
Ivan’s expertise in working with tics builds on his broader 20 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. He has worked extensively across outpatient and inpatient mental health services and has held leadership positions in some of his roles. His training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from renowned institutions like The Beck Institute and the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre. Ivan’s goal is to empower children and adolescents to lead happier, more productive lives by providing compassionate and personalised care.
